A loan of $500 helped to buy additional stocks of foodstuffs such as fish, tomatoes, vegetables, etc.

Asha's story

Asha lives in the coastal town of Mariakani, Kenya. The area is located along the road linking two Kenyan cities and is often visited by many traders. She runs a fish and vegetable shop that has been in operation for the last ten years. She started the business from the sale of farm produce.

Asha was introduced to Milango by a friend and is applying for a loan of 41,850 Kenya shillings (KES) to purchase additional stocks of foodstuffs such as fish, tomatoes, vegetables, etc. Asha believes that the income from this loan will help her start payments for a plot of land she intends to own. Her future ambition is to own a wholesale cosmetics center.
