Margaret's story

Margaret is 42 years old and lives in New Kru Town. She is married and has four children between the ages of 7 and 15 years old that are presently in school and live at home. She stopped her education at 9th grade.

For the past five years she has been running a shop where she sells clothes, hair, slippers, and lappa (traditional cloth ). She started this business at the time her husband were working as a builder. With the little money that she received from him she managed to established her business and learned the ways of selling from her mother. She very happy with her business because she makes lot of profits and it keeps her busy.

Most interestingly, she learned different kinds of local languages. She is requesting a loan to buy more clothes, hair, slippers, and lappa (traditional cloth ) to expand her business. Her plans are to expand her business and educate her children.
