Avtandil's story

Avtandil is 43 years old. He lives in a small village with his family: his wife, Tsismari; his 17-year-old son, who still goes to school; and his parents, who are pensioners. The family runs an agricultural business. In particular, Avtandil has livestock and produces dairy food. Also, he has a plot of land, where he grows various vegetables. His wife is a very hard-working woman and helps him in his business. She sells the harvested products and dairy food in nearby villages. The whole family works hard but still lives in poverty. Their total average monthly income is 250 Lari, which is not enough even for everyday expenses.

Avtandil requested a loan for purchasing sheep. He will grow them and after the sheep are grown, he will be able to produce more dairy food and sell it on the local open market. Avtandil will shave his sheep and sell wool and will sell lambs in the spring. Thus, he will earn additional income. With increased profits, he will be able to reinvest in his family's agricultural business. This will positively influence the income of the family. Due to the above mentioned living conditions of the family will be improved.
