A loan of $700 helped to buy sugar, salt, fruit, cinnamon, milk, salt, etc.

Rhina Claribel's story

Rhina Claribel is 38 years of age and lives with her family: a daughter aged 12 and a son aged nine, both of whom are at school. She is a single mother but the children’s father helps with their upkeep whenever he can.

As she needed to help her children get ahead, she has worked hard to make sure that they have everything they need. With great effort she has set up a business selling food. Her customers can find a variety of snacks in her business, such as atol (a thick, corn-based drink), poleada (a sweet milk drink), bananas in honey, empanadas, fritters, etc. Her business is strategically located on one of the main streets in the area in which she lives. She also sells her produce in a room in her home.

Rhina Claribel is a very enterprising woman who is known by others to be very determined, generous, responsible and dedicated to her tasks. She is the main breadwinner in her home, and this business is the only one she has to allow her to earn an honest living and continue providing for her household every day. As a visionary woman with a desire to get ahead, she has requested this loan to invest in her business by buying the supplies she needs (sugar, salt, fruit, cinnamon, milk, salt, etc.) to continuing making the delicious snacks her customers enjoy.

With the loan she hopes to encourage sales, which will increase her income and allow her and her children to have access to better opportunities in their lives.
