A loan of $350 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Ngeb's Group's story

A rural villager living in the Mongkol Borey district, Ngeb is 43 years old and married. She has six children, three of whom are dependent and still in school. She is a rice farmer who owns one hectare of farmland and she also makes baskets for sale to gain extra income while her husband is a paid worker in the village. Ngeb has been in this business for almost ten years. The main challenge for her is the lack of working capital to support her business.

This is the seventh loan cycle for Ngeb's group, consisting of two members. They both successfully paid back the loans with VisionFund. The past loans from VisionFund have helped Ngeb improve her living and have sufficient food to eat. Currently, she can earn up to 22,000 KHR per day from her current business. Now requesting a loan, Ngeb who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to buy bamboos for secondary business. She hopes this enable her to make more income so as to set aside some money to buy a motorbike.
