A loan of $375 helped to fix and improve her breakfast cart.

Rosalia's story

Rosalía is a hardworking and enterprising woman. She's 60 years old and married. She lives in the town of Ica and has a 16-year-old son. She and her husband, who works as a motorcycle taxi driver, support each other in order to get their family ahead. With a lot of effort, she finished high school. Unfortunately, due to lack of resources, she couldn't go to college, but she would have liked to have studied for a career in gastronomy.
On her own initiative, and thanks to her enterprising spirit, Rosalía has been working for many years on her traveling breakfast sales business. She works from 6 a.m. to noon, and during this time she can serve up to 60 customers daily. She believes that her business goes well because of her exquisite seasoning and good service.
Rosalía is very thankful to Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help she will be able to fix and improve her breakfast cart, because she wants her customers to feel more comfortable. That way she will be able to get a larger clientele and increase her profits, which will allow her to get a breakfast sales venue of her own in a not-so-distant future. Also, little by little, she will be able to achieve her big dream - to build her house with solid materials, since she currently lives in an adobe house.
