Cesar Xavier's story

Cesar lives in La Libertad. At 48 years old he supports his family with two jobs.

His main source of income is a taxi as he is a professional driver. Originally he had an informal taxi but as his business was going well he decided to join a taxi cooperative. At first it wasn't easy because acquiring a license plate is a long a long and costly process, but with effort he did it. He drives the taxi without any problems now and he hopes to avoid them in the future.

He also runs a store which is located in his home and he spends his time between the two businesses. It's easy as he goes out in his taxi during the hours of peak demand which are the mornings and evenings. He is married to Rosa who is housewife and in her free time she helps out with the store. They have one child who goes to the public school close to their home.

He will use the loan mainly to purchase inventory for the store like rice, sugar, flour, and other various items. He will also buy a roll-up door for the store in order to improve security. In the future he hope to make a better income for his family and in that way improve their finances.
