A loan of $1,500 helped to buy fabric for his embroideries.

Raúl's story

Raúl is 55 year old and has been married to Bernardina for 30 years. They have three children, but only the youngest, Fredy, lives with them. He has his own house, which is located in the community of Azapampa.

Tailoring and embroidery of typical clothing from the area is in his blood (especially skirts). The road he took to having his own workshop was not easy, above all because while he had a lot of competition and few resources. So he worked without rest in order to achieve his objective. Currently, on average he makes four plain skirts and one, more detailed skirts each day. He makes a good income, between 400 and 500 soles per week. He then has to share this with the personnel that help him as he has customers in many cities where he is known. Hi dream now is to buy more machines to convert his small house into a large and well implemented workshop. Through this he hopes to increase his income to accumulate the capital he needs. For the moment, he is preparing for the festival during which traditional skirts are in high demand.

This is his sixth loan with MFP and he feels contented with the support he receives, in addition to being grateful for the trust that has been put in him. He promises to make his payments punctually because he will not let his group members down. The group is made up of united and responsible people. Raúl will invest the money he has requested in the purchase of fabric as he has many orders to fill, in addition to having to make clothing for he festival.
