A loan of $300 helped to fix up her juice stand.

Gladys's story

Gladys is 48 years old. She has been married to Fredy for 23 years, and they have two children: Cristian and Maciel. Her main activity is selling juices of all flavors, which she offers in bottles of all sizes. Her stand is in a central area, near a school, the children being her main customers. She only does this during the hottest hours of the day, since that is when the majority consume their fruit drinks. At night, she knits hats on a knitting machine. She says that on average she produces eight units. She sells them in a tourist handcraft center in the city. Her work is very good and she has many buyers. For his part, her husband works transporting passengers. The earnings of both allow them to cover the household expenses. She belongs to the "Mujeres Emprendadoras" ("Entrepreneurial Women") communal bank, and this is her third loan with MFP. She is thankful for the help given to her. Also, she promises to be punctual with the loan repayments, since the members of her association are responsible and united people. Gladys will use the money requested to purchase benches and mayolica tiles to fix up the bar of her juice stand.
