Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,050 helped purchase livestock.

Numon's story

Numon is a young man 33 years of age. He's married and lives with his wife and three children in the J. Rasulov region of Tajikistan. He works as a decorator, but his salary is so small that is doesn't cover his family's expenses. In order to supplement his income, he runs a business buying and selling cattle. He buys cattle at the local market, fattens it and then sells it for profit. His wife takes care of their household and children, but in her free time she helps Numon with the business.
A loan would allow Numon to purchase some livestock and increase the size of his herd.
