Grace's story

Grace is forty years old and lives in the town of Tororo in the Mbale region of Uganda. She is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past twenty years Grace has worked hard to manage her business selling dry foods like maize and beans.

To help expand her business, Grace has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more dry foods like maize to sell and will help Grace to generate greater profits. Her ambition is to expand her business.

Grace is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Grace who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
