Rodrigo is a 63-year-old resident of Silanga, Tangub City. He provides for his four children's needs from the little amount of 8,000 PHP he gains monthly from his own piggery business of two years as an aid to the income gained from his wife, who is a government employee. In 2010 he became a member of GDMPC, and he has applied for a loan of 15,000 PHP to buy feeding supplies. He wants to make an expansion to his business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
