A loan of $750 helped to buy merchandise such as plastic bags and cosmetics.

Carolina De Los Angeles's story

Carolina is originally from Granada. She is 41 years of age, married, and a mother of four children. Only the youngest of her children, who is 16 and a secondary school student, remains under her care.

Carolina started her business selling plastic products and cosmetics with the support of her husband. After working some time with her, her husband decided to travel abroad to look for better job opportunities. Carolina was left in charge of the business, and tries to run it herself as she receives support from nobody.

She has other income in the form of the money which her husband sends to her, which he earns with the hard work he carries out abroad. Carolina sells her products in the areas surrounding Granada.

Carolina has requested a Kiva loan to buy merchandise such as plastic bags and cosmetics. This will help her a lot as she will be able to increase her stock and improve her sales, particularly around this period, which is Mother’s Day. In the future she plans to improve the security of her business infrastructure, and her next goal is to work hard to improve her living conditions and realize her dreams.
