Afiwa

Togo
baguida, Togo / Charcoal Sales

A loan of $600 helped buy bags of charcoal.

Afiwa's story

Afiwa is a 36-year-old woman. She is married to a driver and has three children, two of whom attend school. The eldest is eight years old and the youngest is two.

Afiwa has been working as a reseller since 2009. She sells charcoal, corn and yam tubers to all comers at home. She buys her products in Lome and has one employee. At this time, her main problem is being out of stock.

Afiwa requested her first loan from WAGES to buy charcoal, corn and yam tubers. She wants to reinvest in the business.

In coming years Afiwa would like to expand her business. She said that with the profits she plans to improve her family’s living conditions.
