A loan of $200 helped to stock up on merchandise for her grocery store.

Evelyne Hortense's story

Hortense, age 34, is a young divorced mother of four children aged 8 to 18. She also has another dependent in her care.

She opened a small grocery store two years ago where she sells staples and communication credits. She buys merchandise to sell in small quantities in her store, which requires her to go to the market often to replenish her stock.

She will use this loan to purchase large quantities to sell at retail in her store, thus avoiding frequent visits to the market. This will help her to meet the needs of her growing customer base and to increase her revenue. The profits earned will help her to save for her children’s tuition
