A loan of $1,875 helped to buy 2 bull calves so as to develop her business further, as well as fodder for her farm animals.

Marine's story

Marine has been in the farming business in Kapan for 10 years. He and her husband raise cattle and poultry. Marine uses milk to make butter, cheese, and “matsoni” [a type of traditional yoghurt], and sells these products to her neighbors. She also sells them chicken egg. As to beef, Marine and her husband sell it in their own small butcher shop.
Since the farm is not big, the income from farming and her husband’s salary is not enough to support their family, Marine also works as a hairdresser in a small rented facility.

Marine is 36 years old. After finishing high school in her village, she received a hairdresser’s certificate. Marine has two children: a 16-year old daughter and a 12-year old son. Both attend school. Marine’s husband works at a mining plant, and also helps out in the farming business.
Marine needs a loan for 25,000 FVD in order to buy two calves in order to develop her business further and also to buy fodder for poultry and cattle.
