A loan of $775 helped to buy two oxen.

Ousmane's story

Ousmane started farming and breeding animals at a young age. His father owned larges plots of farming land where he used to grow groundnuts and millet. Ousmane inherited this land and the few heads of cattle remaining from his father’s herd.

The lack of rain forced him to take on the activity of cattle fattening as an alternative method of breeding. He occasionally buys oxen that he fattens over a period of seven to eight months and sells at the local markets. This activity brings in steady income that allows him to support his wife and seven children.

He is seeking a loan of 400,000 F to buy two oxen for his next fattening operation. His goal is to reassemble the family herd, one step at a time.
