The vital contribution of the barbasco to humanity was obtaining the hormonal derivatives for the contraceptive pill that facilitated birth control since 1960 in at least 60 countries.Currently, it is calculated that over 1,200 drugs or compounds were obtained through the diosgenin. It is worth mentioning that all of the products obtained from diosgenin and other sapogenins, from vegetable or animal origin, are known generically as steroids. The field of distribution is routed to the laboratories or trucking. She chose this activity since she observed that is is very profitable and she performs it from Monday to Saturday without a fixed schedule. Her husband is a driver, transporting cargo in a little truck he owns. They have two children who are in school. With the loan, she will buy cardboard, barbasco, zinc, and cane with which she will roof her house and her shop to improve production.
