Ana Leticia's story

Ana Leticia, 40, is married and has a son; she lives in the municipality of Las Vegas, Peña Blanca, Cortes.

Ana is very hardworking; she’s been growing coffee, plantain and corn for ten years that she sells in the local market. The coffee she sells is in wet parchment stage, the plantain is by the bunch and the corn by the quintal. All of her family has worked producing because it’s a way of life to be able to develop and educate her son because where they live is an area that’s apt for this product ion and selling coffee is a very profitable business in the country.

This 12,000 lempira loan is the first one she’s requested and it’s to invest in planting 2000 coffee plants increasing the planted area, to buy fertilizer and manure and to cover farm maintenance costs. Her plan is to continue expanding the planted area to generate more income and to help with her son’s education and family’s support.
