A loan of $950 helped to buy vegetables for her store.

Digna's story

Digna is 39 years old. She is a hardworking and dynamic woman as well as a cheerful and sociable woman. She is married to Ruben, who is a merchant and the father of her three children: Alain, 23, Ronald, 21, and Cindy,11. She lives with her husband and her children, plus a daughter in law. She loves them all very much.

Her business is selling from a little store she has set up in her house. She started with her own capital, the fruit of her saving with her spouse. They invested little by little, constantly rotating the products and creating her business and establishing a good clientele. She has been in this business for more than 15 years and so far she has had her husband's support for the customers when she is not at home. She likes what she does, because it allows her to stay in her own home and have free time to spend doing other activities. It also brings in income, which she uses to help her spouse with the household expenses. What she doesn't like is when her customers are late paying off their credit with her, but she knows that this shouldn't affect her obligations to MFP.

This is her 19th loan, so she hopes to continue with her goals. In addition, she comments that she feels good with her communal bank, because its members make their payments on time. With the amount she has asked for, 2,5000 nuevos soles, she will buy vegetables wholesale to stock her business.
