A loan of $575 helped to organize his office and invest in a new business.

Williams's story

Williams is 46 years old, he is a hard-working man, as well as being happy and sociable. He is married to Dolisex, the mother of his only child who is already an adult. Williams lives with his wife and his mother-in-law in their own house. He has a three-wheeler transport business with his office located in his own home. He manages the paperwork for the traffic and public service permits for the drivers. He currently has 3,400 members. He started up more than 6 years ago with a bank loan, as they were in financial need, and it was upon his wife's suggestion that they decided to opt for this business. In the beginning, Williams worked alone, but he now has a secretary. He likes his work because it doesn't take up too much of his time and he can undertake other activities. He plans to expand his business or set up another one with multiple services where he can sell motorbike insurance, oils and photocopying services. This is his fifth loan with the MFP institution, therefore he hopes to continue with his objectives. Moreover, Williams comments that he feels comfortable with his communal bank as he believes its members to be good people. With the sum requested, of 1,500 Peruvian nuevos soles, he will invest in the purchase of a photocopying machine worth 600 nuevos soles, and with the rest, he will reorganise his office (paint the floors, walls and others).
