A loan of $350 helped to buy seed, fertilizer, insecticides, and working tools.

Héctor Osmel's story

Héctor Osmel is 19 years old. He lives in the home of a relative. His house, like most houses in the community, does not have access to basic housing services because it is located outside of the city. He comes from a humble and simple family, where he learned to value the land and all that it produces, always taking good care of this resource, as his future depends upon it.

Héctor works as a farmer, for 4 years growing corn and loroco [perennial tropical plant which produces an edible flower used in the cuisine of El Salvador and often used as the stuffing for the popular dish of pupusa], and accordingly, it is his only source of income. This is the reason why he has seen the need to ask for a loan, in order to continue with this productive activity, guaranteeing that he will have the financial resources in order to buy seed, fertilizer, insecticides, and working tools.

Héctor wants to have a life with less limitations than he has now, and this is only possible if he obtains the help that he is requesting through Integral, and thus be able to work the land each year in the future.
