A loan of $625 helped to buy more bags of cassava, cocoyam, spices, etc.

Yaa's story

Yaa is forty one years old and she has six children. She has been preparing and selling of local dishes like banku (meal prepared from milled maize), fufu (pounded cassava and plantain or cocoyam), rice ball, and konkonte (meal prepared from cassava flour) for the past fourteen years.

Yaa prepares and sells her dishes in the evening to her customers. She now wants to prepare and sell dishes in the morning because her customers want food to eat in the morning. She therefore wants to use this loan to buy more cassava, plantain, cocoyam, and soup ingredients and also to fix a shed as an eating place.

She is a member of the group called Exodus. Members of the group guarantee for each other to repay the loan.

Yaa is shown in the photo above.
