A loan of $500 helped to buy compost, seeds, insecticides, etc.

José Dimas's story

Jose Dimas, 34, lives in the house he owns with his wife, 32, and their four children, ages 14, 12, 11 and 8. Jose grows basic grains like corn and beans. In addition to his own crops, he also works on another farm because the income from his own farm doesn't cover the needs of his large family. He has been doing this for a long time and earns his living honorably. He is a very responsible, generous and dedicated man. He is well-known amongst his neighbors who give him good work and personal references.

Every year he does the same work because he's humble and his scarce resources don't allow him to access any other type of job or business. This year, as before, he has decided to work the land. In order to do so, he needs to invest in agricultural inputs (compost, seeds, insecticides, etc) that he needs for the planting. For that reason he has asked for a loan from INTEGRAL, because he doesn't have the financial resources to make the investment. He hopes to grow the main grains this year so that he can feed his family every day and little by little improve their living conditions.
