El Salvador / Bakery

A loan of $400 helped to purchase raw materials such as sugar, corn, butter, yeast, eggs and firewood.

Maria Paz's story

María sells tortillas and makes bread. Currently she lives with her husband and two children, ages 7 and 5. She learned these tasks six years ago due to economic necessity.

She is requesting a loan to buy raw materials such as sugar, corn, butter, yeast, eggs and firewood. This will help in the production of tortillas as well as bread, with the objective of improving her income.

María’s aspiration is to be able to own a machine that will help her process the materials for bread making because this will help speed up production and enable her to produce more, giving her the opportunity to provide the necessities for, and improve the future of, her family.
