A loan of $950 helped to feed her employees.

Azucena's story

Azucena is 40 years old and is a hardworking and enterprising woman. She is also happy and sociable. She’s married to Enel and they have two children: 20 year old Dan and 18 year old Maymi. They live together in the home they bought with all their efforts.

She works with lumber, where her job is to place the wood in ovens to dry it. She works with her husband and has up to six employees who help carry the lumber. She began this business six months ago with her own capital and she considers it to be very profitable and the income has helped pay the household expenses. She began doing this with her husband. Having seen the business opportunity, she decided to support him with the household expenses and in this way provide a better quality of life for their children. After having seen the good results, she plans to start another business that she considers profitable; selling clothing.

This will be her eighth loan through MFP. She is grateful knowing that she will be able to count on financial support to continue with her work. She also feels comfortable in her communal bank because of the support it provides to its members.

With the solicited amount of 2,500 PEN, she will invest in ingredients to prepare food for her lumber workers and also pay for their labor.
