A loan of $800 helped to buy items like dairy products and sausages. He will also buy two freezers to freeze the meat.

Jose Luis's story

José Luis is 54 years old, and his children are now adults. He is married, and he lives with his wife and grandchildren in an outlying area of San Pedro Sula.

José Luis has had his grocery store business for ten years. He sells staples like beans, lard, flour, rice, sugar, instant corn flour, dairy products, eggs, soft drinks, and grocery store items. With his wife’s help he has known how to run the business very well. His wife always supports him. With the income generated from the business he has managed to reinvest and stock the store more.

This is José’s third loan with ODEF. He requested a loan for 15,000 lempiras to buy items like dairy products and sausages. He will invest the other part in purchasing two freezers to freeze the meat. This way he will be able to offer his customers products that are fresh and of good quality.

His goal is to have products that generate more demand in his store. This way he will manage to increase his sales. He will do this in order to have financial solvency so that he can help with his grandchildren’s education.
