A loan of $625 helped to buy merchandise.

Karen's story

Karen, 23, is a kind, enthusiastic young woman who very much wants to improve. She’s single and has no children; she’s currently studying. She lives in her mother’s house and they work hard together to be able to have a better quality of life.

Her work is selling beauty products directly and via catalogue. She set up a small salon at home where she displays her products in addition to offering them to her friends, neighbors and family members. She has a good way of treating people and always makes her customers feel important. She’s been in this activity for five years and works alongside her mother; they make a very good team.

A few years ago she needed to find a source of income to meet her household expenses and this is how she started selling a few and gradually stocking more products. Now, she’s doing very well and she has many customers who wait for her to make their purchases and place orders for cosmetics and perfumery.

This is her fifth MFP loan; she’s very happy for the financial backing because she’ll be able to increase her working capital. She knows that she must be very responsible and above all very punctual. She’s happy to belong to her communal bank because they are all very mutually supportive.

She will use the requested 1600 soles to buy beauty products that are on sale to resell them at normal price. She will also do some home improvements because she needs to provide more comfort for her customers.
