A loan of $3,425 helped a member to buy more items for the café to sell.

Imalika Group's story

Abdalla, who is in his late 30s, is married with three children who go to school. He has been running a café (which sells juice, water, sodas, mandanzi, chapati, cakes and bagiya) for five years now. He works from 5:00 a.m. to midnight daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be his fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy a motorcycle, to restock items, to start building his house, and for household expenses, and he has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants a loan to buy more items for the café to sell. His dream is to one day be able to finish building his house.

He will share this loan with his loan group, Imalika, which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Abdalla, Adam, Pazi, Mandela*, Riziki, Acinela, Rukia, Zewena, Abdalla*, Albert, Musa*, Haji, Khadija, Nustafa, Ally, Said
