A loan of $1,600 helped a member to stock her retail business.

San Jeronimo Group's story

Members of the San Jeronimo community bank include: Fabiola who will use her loan to stock her retail business with shoes, etc.; Sra. Blanca Estela who will use her loan to buy supplies for her food business; Aracela will use her loan to stock her clothing business; and Cecilia who will use her loan to stock her retail business with gum and other snacks. Aracela, 21, and her husband, a soldier, have a two-month old daughter. She sells clothing and is applying for a loan to buy pants, shirts, sweaters, etc. She started the business 8 months ago with help from her sister-in-law. The business is important to her because it generates extra income. She wants to stock baby clothes in the future and is thinking of using her share of the loan for that purpose. Her hopes for the future are that her daughter continue to thrive and that her business continue to grow. She is grateful for past loans because they helped her to establish her business and grow it. The members of the community bank want Kiva lenders and Fundacion Realidad know "that we are grateful for your loan . . . it will greatly help us to grow our businesses and improve the lives of our families".
