Maroun is a 33-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and only one child. He’s the main income provider in his family, and strives to work really hard to collect money and offer them a fair way of living. For this reason, he decided to start his own business so he opened his own car mechanic shop a few years ago. In parallel, he has been working at a local garage since 2005. Today, he’s requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase extra mechanical tools and spare parts for his garage at special prices. He notes that this will improve his work and therefore allow him to earn superior income. In the future, he plans to take more Kiva loans and renovate his garage.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
