A loan of $1,500 helped to buy household items like perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, etc.

María Elizabeth's story

In the beautiful city of Bahía De Caraquez, known for its beautiful beaches, delicious and varied gastronomy, and for the warmth of its people, the members of the communal bank Sociedad De Bahía meet every fifteen days.

In this place we meet María who's 65 years old. Several years ago her husband died but from this relationship they had five children which are already older. One of her daughters lives in her home. For her, this is the third loan cycle with the communal bank and she is very happy because of the help that the loans have given her.

Our friend is a housewife that makes a living selling household products like irons, beds, fans, and pots, among other items, as well as Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumery, and women's' accessories) to obtain her own resources and with these be able to get ahead. She works almost every day, sells her products on credit, and collects money every eight days. Because of this, in addition to making sales, she has to go out to collect money on what she sells. She has been making a living doing this for four years and thanks to this she has been able to get ahead without having to ask her children nor anyone else for help, she says.

This loan is for the purchase of household items like perfume, lotion, and cosmetics, among other things.

Her dream is a have a large store.
