Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $300 helped to buy manure, weed-killers and improved seeds.

Jose Wilfredo's story

José is a farmer and he plants maize and beans. He is 19 years old, he has no children and lives in his family in their own house. His father taught him to work as a farmer, and he has been working on his own for the past three years.
He is requesting a loan to buy agriculture supplies: he is about to start sowing, using manure, weed-killers and improved seeds, aiming at obtaining the best results. Thanks to this loan, José will have the necessary economic means to get everything he needs to till his lands.
José’s goal is to grow with his activity, to improve his family’s economy and to offer a better standard of living to his family.
