A loan of $775 helped to buy wood for purposes of his furniture-making business.

Mamadou Bamba's story

Mr. Mamadou Bamba lives in a Senegalese suburb. He is unmarried but is virtually the head of household for his family. He has been active in the furniture-making sector for twelve years. This fine carpenter devotes thirteen hours of time each day at his work.

He is a member of the U-IMCEC branch office in his residential area and is requesting a loan of 400,000 francs for buying wood to make furniture destined for resale.

The growth of his revenues will give him the chance to diversify his business and thus to get started in the raising of livestock. His final goal is to achieve an improvement in his family's food situation and, in the long term, to buy a house. His dream is to become a major businessman.
