A loan of $650 helped to buy merchandise like clothes, shoes, domestic appliances, and others in order to stock her business.

Suyapa's story

Suyapa is 50 years old and has three grown children. She lives with her husband in a suburban neighborhood in San Pedro Sula.

Suyapa worked for several years for a private company, where she started selling her merchandise to her colleagues. Three years ago she left work and established the business in her house. She sells clothes, variety items, domestic appliances, Avon cosmetics, food, and others.

She has requested two loans for her business. This second loan is for 12,000 lempiras. She will use the loan to buy merchandise like clothes, shoes, and domestic appliances in order to keep her business stocked and increase sales by having a variety of products.

Her goal is to prosper in the business and to fix up her house in the future in order to well-establish the business. She is grateful to ODEF and Kiva for the opportunity given to her.
