A loan of $2,675 helped a member to increase her food stock and sell more food.

Kingugi Group's story

Awesa, who is in her early 30s, is married with three children; none of them go to school. She has been a food vendor for three years now. She works from 5 am to 6 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her 2nd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to restock missing items, household expenses and has repaid her loan successfully. She hopes for a loan to increase her food stock and sell more food. Her dream is to one day be able to pay school fees for her children.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Kingugi" which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
