A loan of $775 helped to buy clothes.

Carmi's story

Carmi, 33, is a dedicated, hardworking woman besides being kind and cordial. She’s married to Jerson who works in transportation and is the father of their three children: Judith, 12, Jesmin, 8 and Daniel, 4. The house they live in is their property.

Her activity is selling clothes. To do so she makes periodic trips to the capital where she does her purchases looking for better prices and styles. Sometimes her cousin sends her clothes since she lives in that city. She also sells beauty products via catalogue her main customers being her friends, family members and coworkers at the school she works at as a teacher. She’s been in business more than three years and likes it because she earns her own additional income to cover household expenses and her daughter’s educational costs. She used to have more economic problems because her salary was insufficient.

This is her second MFP loan so she hopes to make her plans a reality. She also feels comfortable in the communal bank she belongs to because she considers them to be a united, mutually supportive group.

She will use the requested 2000 new soles to buy more clothes and beauty products increasing her stock of merchandise.
