A loan of $1,150 helped to buy materials and tools (memory cards, needle-nose pliers, pliers, and other things).

Juan Humberto's story

Juan is a young man, 28 years old, who lives in the city of Ica, a place known for a warm climate year round. It is also known for farming, especially cotton, grapes, asparagus, paprika, and other things. There are many tourists throughout the year because the Huacachina Lagoon is located here, in the middle of spectacular sand dunes. When he has free time, Juan likes to play soccer and eat his favorite food, "escabeche de pescado" [pickled fish]. He studied electronics at a technical school, but he would have liked to go to university to be a technical engineer.

Juan works with enthusiasm at his business maintaining and repairing computers and electronic systems. He works around 8 hours a day and can tend to up to 15 clients in a day. He says he thinks that his business is going well because he's known by his customers and because he provides friendly service.

Juan is very happy and grateful to the Kiva lenders because, thanks to the help they've given him, he will be able to buy tools and materials for repairing computers, like memory cards, needle-nose pliers, , among other things. This way he will have the necessary materials to do his work and increase his income. This will allow him to continue making progress towards his greatest dream: "to have a computer maintenance business."
