Tupendane Group's story

Hadija, who is in her mid 30s, is married with four children. Three of them go to school. She has many items to sell: water, soda, juice, cakes, vitenge and sarongs. She has been in this business for nine years. She works from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. This will be her sixth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to build a small house, buy items missing in her business, and pay school fees. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a loan to buy more water, juice, soda, cakes, vitenge and sarongs. Her dream is to one day be able to build more rooms in her house. She will share this loan with her loan group, "Tupendane," which has a total of 11 members. They will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
