A loan of $1,225 helped to buy cows to raise and sell.

Tadeo's story

Tadeo is a married man, 63 years old, with seven children. Two of his children still go to school.

Tadeo is mainly an agriculturalist who raises cattle, grows crops for sustenance and sells the surplus. He began farming in the early 1970s because it was easy to feed his family while selling the surplus to meet other needs like school fees for his children, His two last-born children are now at the university and their fees come from the same source.

He wants a loan of 3,000,000 UGX to buy cows at a reduced price in the villages to sell to cattle traders who transport them to the city at a higher price to earn a profit.

Tadeo dreams of having a large farm of dairy cattle so that he can supply milk to the dairies. There are many dairies in the area where he lives. His major challenge comes when he buys the cows and they get lost and try to find their way back to their former places and if they break their legs while being loaded on the truck or during the course of transportation.

Tadeo is very hard working despite his advanced age.
