A loan of $3,150 helped a member to buy flour and butter to make bread.

Zanja Honda Group's story

The venture bank Zanja Honda is comprised of 11 members: 10 women and one man. The president of the bank is María Jesús, who is 38 years old, un-married but living with her partner with whom she has two children of 5 and 14 years of age. She works making and selling bread. Her bakery is located in Zanja Honda. This loan is her first with the institution. María Jesús will use the loan to buy flour and butter to make bread and so will increase her working capital and improve her business. Her reason for requesting this loan is a lack of capital. María Jesús faces challenges in her business, including increasing her customer base, and she will use the profits to improve the quality of life for her family. María Jesús is a very hardworking person who is pleased and grateful that the institution offers to her and her group members.
