Bilquis Begum's Group's story

Bilquis Begum is a 55-year-old married woman and a mother of four sons. Her eldest son has a nan (bread) stall business. He sells a variety of nan breads (potato & gram flour) to the customers and charges different prices. He makes good sales from his business and earns good profits. His father also runs a food stall where he sells dahi bhalay (very popular Punjabi dish made with potatoes, yogurt and spicy & sweet sauces) to his customers. He also makes good sales from his business.

Bilquis herself is a very talented lady. She operates a sewing business to supplement the income of her family. Her work is home-based. She sews clothes for her neighboring customers. Besides her sewing business, she also does the household works with much dedication. Her family is very happy with her loving and caring nature.

Bilquis has requested a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her son’s business. With the loan investment, he will buy flour, cooking oil, spices, potatoes and gram flour in larger quantity to meet the client’s order on time and increase the income.
She is very confident about the future growth of her son’s business after the loan investment.
