A loan of $1,125 helped to improve the premises (painting and repairing shop windows, among other things).

Rosa Matilde's story

Rosa is a very enthusiastic woman. She lives in the city of Ica, which is known for having a hot climate in all seasons of the year. It is also known for its agriculture, especially the cultivation of cotton, grapes, and asparagus, among other things. Here one also encounters the Huacachina lagoon, which is located in the middle of some impressive dunes and receives many tourists throughout the year. When she has free time, Rosa likes to go out strolling and on some occasions she likes to eat one of her favorite dishes, which is the delicious "rice with chicken."

With enthusiasm, Rosa works day by day in her business selling cakes and cocadas (coconut cookies). She dedicates around eight hours a day to her work and can attend up to fifteen clients in a day. She believes that things go well for her in the business because she has good taste in the preparation of her sweets and she is very knowledgeable.

Rosa is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the support that they have provided, she will be able to make repairs to her business premises, such as painting and repairing shop windows, among other things. In this way, she will be able to offer better service to her clients and thereby improve her earnings. This in turn will permit her to continue fighting to achieve her greatest dream, which is "to have a house of her own."
