A loan of $275 helped to buy new clothing, undergarments, sandals, and shoes.

Santos Matilde's story

Doña Santos is 54 years old and a single mother with three children. She lives in the subdivision of Zona Periférica in San Pedro Sula with her young daughter. Santos has always been a homemaker, but she is also a merchant. She has more than 15 years of experience in the business of selling merchandise by going house-to-house, visiting fairs, and taking orders and requests from her home. Santos sells sandals, shoes, undergarments (for women, men, and children), and other products that have been ordered by her customers.

Doña Santos is requesting a loan of 5,000 HNL in order to improve her sales. She plans to restock her inventory of merchandise such as clothing, sandals, and other requested items so that she can generate more income. Her goal is to establish her business in a fixed location and offer her customers a variety of products. She is extremely grateful for the financing opportunity from ODEF and Kiva.
