Genis Fidèles Plus Group's story

Malela is the chairman of the Community Bank named “Genis Fidèles Plus,” which is composed of 25 members united in solidarity for receiving Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses.

Malela, 58, started his business in 2007. He manages his own general store in the West of Kinshasa. He works hard with good management skills in order to realize his dream of one day opening a large store in his area. His business generates a profit of US$90 per week. He will increase his stock of merchandise with his next loan by purchasing, soaps, vegetable oil, and sacks of rice and reselling them at a profit. Malela is a married and has five children aged between 10 and 22. Two of them attend school.
