A loan of $400 helped to buy kitchen utensils.

Herminio's story

Herminio, 24, is a young bachelor who lives in his own house in the district of Perené, Chanchamahyo. He learned about agriculture from his parents as he was growing up, and then began working independently. Little by little he was able to save the money he earned and bought a vehicle which he uses every day to transport passengers in the city. He enjoys this work and finds it most gratifying.

Since he is not compliant, he takes advantage of the opportunities he sees; so he also works as a bricklayer at construction sites. Meanwhile, he continues taking care of cropland and grows oranges and bananas.

Through his transport business he is able to save money that will allow him to go into other businesses. One of his goals is to have a food stall on weekends, when the streets are busier with passersby.

This is his first loan through MFP and he is committed to paying it back on time. He plans to use the money to buy pots and pans, dishes, and other kitchen utensils he needs to start the new food business.
