A loan of $1,475 helped to buy potato seedlings, fertilizers, and farming supplies.

Miguel's story

Miguel is 56 years old, married, and has five children. He lives in the town of Intibucá, La Esperanza.

Don Miguel has engaged in agriculture his entire life, but the last seven years have been focused on cultivating potatoes on a few parcels of land. Whatever he produces is distributed at the local market. He started out with the help of a few loans that ODEF provided, which motivated him to continue working so that he could obtain a good harvest and increase his productivity.

Miguel has received six loans from ODEF. He is currently requesting another one in the amount of 28,000 HNL so that he can buy potato seedlings, fertilizers, and supplies for fumigation. This will enable him to maintain his crops well so that he can achieve a good harvest. He says that all of his efforts and dedication are geared toward generating more income to cover household expenses. His goal is to continue working so that he can obtain a better house with all the comforts that he can offer to his family.
