Kakata, Liberia / Fish Selling

A loan of $125 helped buy fish to sell.

Bendu's story

Bendu lives in Kakata Town. She is 45 years old and has three children between the ages of 4 and 25, two are in school and live at home while the oldest one lives on his own and attends college. Bendu did not go to school herself. For the past twenty years, she has been selling dried and fresh fish in the market. She says nothing makes her smile and laugh compared to her business because of the interaction of her customers and friends who sell the same goods (dried and fresh fish). She says sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they are not. She is asking a loan to buy more dried and fresh fish for her business. Her plan is to expand her business even more.
