Regina's story

Regina is a 40-year-old married woman. She has two children who are four and nine years old. She describes herself as confident and determined.


For the past four years Regina has operated a store where she sells items such as flour, cooking oil, sugar, detergent, etc. She employs one staff member. Her business is located in a residential area and her primary customers are local residents. High rent and the cost of household goods are her biggest business challenges.


Regina is requesting a 20,000 KES loan from SMEP to buy more household goods to sell. Her ambition is to run a wholesale shop within five years. She would also like to build a house for her family as well as some rental housing.
