Lansana A.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you this group of primary school teachers from the eastern city of Kenema. These borrowers have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to request a loan of 6,000,000 SLL in order to meet their variegated personal financial needs.

Lansana is a teacher at the school and leader of this group. Fifty-year-old Lansana was born in a place called Largo. He is married with six children, two of whom are attending secondary schools and four of whom are in college. Lansana has been in the teaching profession for thirty-six years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy house building materials including iron corrugated sheets, sand, cement, rods, and nails for the construction of a family house.
